Circus Starr is bringing its annual community event to The Ridgeway Centre today, Thursday 1 October, with two free performances designed to welcome children who might otherwise miss out on a trip to the circus.
The charity’s new under-the-sea show features Ringmistress Mariska Gandey, clown Edy and the colourful Starr Squad. Audiences can expect juggling, BMX tricks and other circus skills in a sensory-friendly setting.
The performances are intended to be inclusive
for children with disabilities and additional learning needs. A British Sign Language interpreter will be present, while the lights and volume will be toned down as part of the relaxed-show format.
“Seeing the impact that our event can have on children who usually miss out on attending these kinds of events is truly amazing,” said Circus Starr trustee Michelle Crossley. She also thanked the local businesses whose support makes the free tickets possible.
Shows are scheduled for 4.45pm and 7pm at The Ridgeway Centre. For more information, visit the Circus Starr website.
