The award-winning West End musical is heading to Milton Keynes for a limited run, bringing its extraordinary tale of wartime deception to local audiences.
One of the West End’s most celebrated musicals is heading to Milton Keynes for one week after extending the UK leg of its world tour.
Operation Mincemeat, the Olivier Award-winning Best New Musical, is bringing its extraordinary wartime story to the city following success in London and on Broadway, where it has also won a Tony Award.
The production tells the remarkable true story of a secret British mission during the Second World War involving a stolen corpse, a fake love letter and an audacious plan to deceive Hitler.
Set in 1943, the musical follows the unlikely team behind an operation designed to mislead Nazi Germany about the Allies’ military plans.
Blending comedy, music and historical intrigue, the fast-paced production has attracted widespread critical acclaim, with its creators reporting 161 five-star reviews.
The show has been described by Metro as “Pure theatrical serotonin”, while the Daily Mirror compared it to a combination of Mel Brooks, SIX and Hamilton.
The Milton Keynes engagement forms part of the show’s extended UK tour, giving audiences another opportunity to see the production outside London’s West End.
Operation Mincemeat will run at Milton Keynes Theatre from Tuesday, March 2 to Saturday, March 6, 2027. Tickets are available now through the theatre’s official booking website.
